We aren't quite done with wedding season yet, a first for us at this point of the year. With still one to go this month and another in December, we have more under our belt for the year than we have ever had. And we are so thankful--it was a good year for that!
Something I often get asked this time of year is, "What has been your favorite wedding so far?" I hate that question, actually, because it doesn't have an answer. I could point to any one of them as my favorite, and all for different reasons.
I did my first Jewish wedding and the traditions incorporated into it were so beautiful. A favorite moment.
I did weddings at the venues each of my daughters' were married and those nostalgic memories are favorites.
We did a wedding on Whidbey Island overlooking the water. Whidbey is my favorite.
We did weddings at some spectacular venues that treated us like royalty and never had any answer to a question other than "yes." Those venues are my favorite.
We did weddings where the food was delectable. Those meals were my favorite.
We had some dance parties that were so fun and unending. That atmosphere is my favorite.
We worked with beautiful souls who were so kind and trusting of our knowledge. They were my favorites.
So you see? At every wedding I learn something new, make a new friend, find a new vendor I love, taste a new dish, receive a new blessing, see a new view.
They are all my favorites.
